Exhibition at the British Museum entitled ‘Sunken Cities: Egypt’s Lost World’, followed by an early evening carvery dinner in a London hotel.
Because of the inclusion of the evening meal we shall be starting out later than usual.
On arrival at the British Museum you will have plenty of time to wander round at your own pace and maybe get something for lunch.
We will then visit the Sunken Cities exhibition of amazingly intricate and beautiful artefacts. These have recently been rescued from the seabed, where the remains of two Egyptian towns inundated by a tsunami 2,000 years ago have lain undisturbed. The exhibition sets out to illustrate the relationship between Ancient Egypt and Greece and is bound to be absorbing. Entry to this exhibition will be at 3.10pm and 3.20pm.
At a prearranged time we will congregate and take a 10-minute stroll to the nearby President hotel for a three-course dinner at 5.30pm. The coach will pick us up to see the Christmas lights on the way home.
Here is a chance to see one of London’s major exhibitions of the year and the Christmas decorations and enjoy a dinner in town with your friends. We expect to be back about 9pm.
