
In his entertaining and richly illustrated talk, ‘The Wicked Wit of Winston Churchill’, Stewart Linford brought to life the humour, intelligence and larger-than-life personality of Winston Churchill. Speaking in character and drawing on decades of admiration and research, Linford delivered an engaging performance that combined history, storytelling and comedy. Throughout the presentation, Linford shared many of Churchill’s famous quips and lesser known anecdotes. Among the best loved were Churchill’s sharp exchanges with political rivals and society figures. Overall, ‘The Wicked Wit of Winston Churchill’ was an enjoyable and informative celebration of one of Britain’s most memorable figures. We were left both laughing and reflecting on the enduring power of wit in public life.
