and backstage tour

By way of a change to our normal days out we have arranged an outing for you to Chichester Festival Theatre.

We have booked a backstage tour at 10.30am, which should be fascinating. This lasts for about an hour after which you will have some time to yourselves to go into Chichester to have a bite of lunch or maybe do a little shopping. Chichester has a lovely range of shops and restaurants. Alternatively you could stay in and around the theatre, stroll around the park and have a sandwich.

However, don’t get too carried away as we have booked tickets in excellent seats for the afternoon performance at 2.30pm of Pride and Prejudice* (*sort of). It comes direct from its triumph in the West End where it won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy and the Evening Standard Award and is currently on a UK tour.

In a unique and audacious retelling of Jane Austen’s most iconic love story, men, money and microphones will be fought over in this irreverent but affectionate adaptation, where the stakes couldn’t be higher when it comes to romance. The production features a string of pop classics including Young Hearts Run Free, Will You Love Me Tomorrow and You’re So Vain. It’s the 1800s. It’s party time. Let the ruthless matchmaking begin.

We plan to leave Chichester at the end of the afternoon performance and should be back in Dorking by 6.30pm.
