The Chichester Festival of Flowers is a biennial event, the proceeds of which go to the Cathedral Restoration Fund. This year it has as its theme ‘This Earthly Paradise’ and Josie Morum-Pound, the inspired festival designer, has overall responsibility for organising the flower arrangers’ spectacular banks of flowers which complement the magnificent cathedral architecture. We have arranged our visit for the first day of the show so that we see the flowers at their very best.
The day is yours to spend as long as you like among the sights and scents of the cathedral, have lunch, visit the Pallant Gallery or the museum, which must be interesting in a town which goes back to before the Romans, or just do some window-shopping. We plan to leave for home at 4.30pm.
