BRIGHTON ROYAL PAVILION
The spectacular seaside palace of the Prince Regent, later George IV, was transformed by John Nash between 1815 and 1823 into one of the most dazzling and exotic buildings in the British Isles.
The Royal Pavilion houses furniture and works of art, including original pieces lent by HM The Queen, and a magnificent display of Regency silver-gilt. Within the last year the Saloon has been re-opened after three years of extensive restoration.
The Royal Pavilion Tearoom, with its fabulous balcony, overlooks the Pavilion Gardens which have also been returned to their original Regency splendour.
We will also have the added advantage of an expert guided tour within this spectacular building, bringing to life the extravagant excesses of the Prince Regent and his Court.
We are planning to have lunch at a restaurant nearby, leaving us a small amount of time to explore the surrounding area before boarding the coach for home at about 4.00pm.
