We were pleased to welcome Stephen Chater as our speaker to the Monthly Meeting in March. Stephen gave an interesting and thought-provoking talk on ‘The Social Life of Tea and Coffee’. We learned all about the changing fashions in non-alcoholic drinking in the 17th and 18th centuries and their effect on the development of the City of London and its business and cultural interests. |
