Following many requests from our members we have decided to arrange another visit to some of the medieval churches which form a unique group on Romney Marsh. The Romney Marsh Historic Churches Trust, which has been in existence since 1982, aims to preserve and maintain the fabric of these churches, together with that of four ruined churches.
Our first stop will be at the Rose & Crown Pub in Old Romney for coffee. We will then meet our guide, who gives his services free to the Trust and to whom we will give a donation. He will take us to visit a few of the churches on Romney Marsh before returning to the pub for a ploughman’s lunch. After our meal we will visit one or two more churches before enjoying a WI tea in the village hall of St Mary’s Bay.
The price includes all refreshments and the donation to the Trust.
We leave for home at around 4.00pm
