If you are fond of roses, especially old-fashioned roses – and who isn’t? – you won’t want to miss Mottisfont in June where the National Collection of Old Roses, such as the Moss Rose Chapeau de Napoleon or the bicoloured Rosa Mundi scent the air and delight the eye in the walled garden. In addition, there is an 18th-century house to look round, an art exhibition to see, a small outdoor café and beautiful grounds with a stream flowing gently by.
