Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill and the seat of the dukes of Marlborough, is named after a small village that is the site of a victory led by John Churchill, first Duke of Marlborough, during the Spanish War of Succession. The palace, built in the Baroque style, is imposing by any standards.
Outside, in the grounds designed by Capability Brown, a maze has been introduced and a butterfly farm. You will be able to get something to eat, or could take a picnic. There is plenty to see and do at Blenheim, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy exploring this unique palace at your leisure.
