Dorking Creative Writing group member Ruth Bergman has won the U3A national competition for a limerick with the first line “A U3A writer from Prague” (Prague being a notoriously difficult word to rhyme with).

A U3A writer from Prague
Penned rhymes on the way to Den Haag.
She wrote in a scrawl
With no trouble at all
And dreamed of a Persian charbagh.*
* A charbagh, for those that don’t know, is a type of Persian garden.
