We are a complete mix of standards and experience, so if you are interested, do not hold back. New members will be very welcome! Most of those who play with us were complete beginners when they started: we are all learning as we go along!
Like most games, the basics are relatively straightforward, and we have these outline rules to start, and fuller copies giving the intricacies. It is an intriguing game! Mahjong can sound complex, but if you are familiar with the likes of Rummy, Rummycub, Whist or Canasta, you will pick it up in no time. The game grows as you learn, and it grows on you too as you play. Ideally we play in tables of four, and each table can play at its own level. If you think it could be for you but you have never played, you are welcome to come and watch before committing.
Each session costs around £3-£4, depending on numbers, to cover room hire and refreshments. The room is air-conditioned and there is lots of free carparking!
