|Meets||Second Tuesday of the month, 10am-noon|
During the spring lockdown the Scribblers met via Zoom each fortnight. Well, we all had time on our hands. As well as normal routines we had a ‘silly theme’: wearing a hat, T-shirt or accessory and telling its story. Our meetings were something to look forward to, and because fewer people attended we had more time to chat. And of course we didn’t have to dress up!
Phase 2 – lockdown ended – hurrah. We resumed ‘normal’ meetings, but with a difference, as they took place in a member’s beautiful garden and with social distancing. Loud voices were essential but we found the pleasure of really seeing each other and relaxing with friends went beyond words.
And now of course it’s winter and cold so we have reverted to Zoom. But what about those who don’t or won’t have Zoom? We now have ‘Zoom buddies’ who offer hospitality to one person so they are not left out because of techno problems. It’s not the same but we survive.
We meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 10am to noon. Please feel free to join us: new faces are always welcome and writing is an excellent interest in these troubled times. At each meeting we do a five-minute ‘Scribble’ on a random topic (amazing what people come up with), some sort of writing activity, then we read what we’ve written on a common theme.
