We started early in 2016 with a group of enthusiastic lovers of archaeology. A few of us had experience, but most in the past, so we were starting from scratch.
For the moment we are restricting our study to the UK, although there may be occasional connections with northern Europe. Having looked at the history and basics of excavations, we are finding our way into this enormous subject.
Starting with Roman villas and then going on to hill forts, we are gradually extending our basic knowledge, a little at a time. We have visited Bignor Roman Villa and plan to visit a local hill fort.
