Our first trip of 2017 is to this much-loved venue. Founded in 1852 to support and encourage art and design, the museum houses more than 4½ million objects. Take a leisurely walk around the museum or go and marvel at one of the featured exhibitions.
At the time of our visit there will be two exhibitions: ‘Masterpieces of English Medieval Embroidery’ focusing on the luxury and artistic embroideries that England was famed for from the 12th to the 15th centuries and that were sought after by kings, queens, popes and cardinals across Europe; and ‘You Say You Want a Revolution? Records and Rebels 1966 -1970’ (cost £16) exploring the significance and impact of the late 1960s, expressed through some of the greatest music and performances of the 20th century alongside fashion, film, design and political activism.
The entrance fee for these exhibitions is not included in the cost of the trip.
