Over the course of the day delegates will hear presentations on the historic footpaths of the Thames Valley; the coming of the railways and their impact on Crawley; bees; the effect on the people of Portsmouth of the Battle of Jutland; the cognitive neuroscience of remembering and forgetting; the experience of interviewing end-of-life patients at a hospice; and a study of memory with U3A members.
There will also be the opportunity to participate in workshops on such topics as research ethics, archival research, ‘curious minds’ and ‘the journey from interest group to research’.
