Our Culture Companions group visits the Dorking Halls for a concert featuring the Brodsky Quartet in a programme of Bach, Britten and Beethoven.
The Brodsky Quartet have performed over 3,500 concerts on the major stages of the world and have released more than 70 recordings.
For their second visit, the quartet play the arrangement of the Bach Sonata in A minor. This is followed by Britten’s third string quartet which features themes from his last opera, Death in Venice. The late Beethoven quartet is one of his greatest pieces of music and includes a beautiful slow movement.
