Duncan Lavin’s childhood dream was to visit Antarctica, and in 2017 with his wife and close friends he cruised from Buenos Aires to Antarctica via Tierra del Fuego and onwards to Elephant Island, the Falklands, Punta Tombo Nature Reserve in Argentina and Montevideo.
Accompanied by stunning photography, his talk charts the voyage and dips into the history of polar exploration, South American fauna, the Falklands War, wildlife in the Weddell Sea and Southern Atlantic Ocean plus a little Uruguayan and Argentine history.
