The Walking group had eight members for our walk on Friday 12 November starting at the Gomshall Mill. It was a damp morning but as the day progressed the weather improved and later we had bright sunshine to show up the autumn colours and beautiful views of the Surrey Hills.
We walked through fields and down to Sutton Abinger and the Volunteer pub. Then up through the Sutton Place estate. We surprised two deer grazing next to some horses. They left the field when they noticed us, leaping over the fence.
We arrived back at the Gomshall Mill after two-and-a-half hours for the five-mile walk. Five group members stayed for lunch at the mill.
