Tickets are now on sale for a special U3A event at the Royal Institution in London on Monday 10 October.
Three topics will be addressed by experts in their fields with question-and-answer sessions after each presentation. At 1.45pm Jon Copley will focus on hydrothermal vents on the ocean floor and the life that thrives around them; at 2.35pm Courtenay Norbury explores developmental language disorders, how language is situated in the developing brain and how it relates to other developmental skills such as non-verbal reasoning, social interaction and academic learning; and at 3.55pm, after a break for refreshment, Jill Stuart poses the question Who owns outer space? and shares the results of her research into the politics of cosmic exploration.
