Come and join former librarian at the British Library Stephen van Dulken to hear about women inventors at the July U3A meeting.
Stephen, who lives in Lewes, says he is fascinated by early women inventors and making deductions about them.
His talk is a light-hearted look at how many women were involved in the Victorian and Edwardian periods in patenting; what backgrounds they came from and what sorts of things they patented. Why were they less numerous than the men? And how did contemporary newspapers regard their efforts?
Find out on Wednesday 13 July at the Christian Centre.
