Following his talk on the subject to U3A members at the monthly meeting in January, our Newsletter editor Jim Docking has just published his history of Pippbrook House, the Grade II*-listed mansion that until recently housed the Dorking Library.
The book launch was held on Thursday 12 May in the mansion itself, which is currently being used by Mole Valley Council while its nearby offices are refurbished.
Guests were treated to a tour of the building and heard from Jacqui Hamlin, of Community Hub in Pippbrook, which is campaigning to save the mansion for use by the community.
This week’s Dorking Advertiser devoted a full page to the event, which you can see on our Press cuttings page.
