As long as there have been vaccines there have been concerns about their safety and efficacy. In an exclusive one-day event, U3A members are invited to join medical specialists to explore the arguments for and against vaccination.
Members will hear talks from Dr Timothy Wallington, who spent 30 years as a consultant clinical immunologist at the North Bristol NHS Trust, Prof Gareth Williams, who has written over 20 books including ones on smallpox and polio, Dr Christopher Burns, a doctor who has worked all over the world on smallpox eradication programmes, and Dr Robert Spencer, recently retired as a microbiologist.
The event will be held on 9 March 2016 from 11am-3.45pm at Dr [Edward] Jenner’s House, Church Lane, Berkeley, Gloucestershire GL13 9BN. Tickets are £20 each. You can download a booking form from the Events section of the members’ area at the U3A national website.
